MLK DAY BREAKFAST

The 40th Annual MLK Day Breakfast
Join us for an incredible morning of food, music and community, highlighted by Pulitzer Prize winner Dr. Jeffrey C. Stewart, who will discuss "Nonviolence: Now More Than Ever."
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will be held at Branford High School, 185 E. Main Street, Branford CT. Tickets are just $20 ($5 for students). Proceeds go to the MLK Heritage Foundation's scholarship fund, which benefits Branford High School students.

We are so grateful to have partnered with Branford Public Schools for hosting what has become a joyful and amazing Branford tradition.
Speaker
A professor of Black Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara, Dr. Stewart is a distinguished philosopher, historian and author, and won both the Pulitzer and National Book Award for his historical biography, The New Negro: The Life of Alaine Locke. We believe Dr. Stewart's perspectives on nonviolence will be timely in this era of increasing tensions.

Food
An incredible full breakfast prepared by the BHS Culinary Arts program with help from the experienced chefs at Branford Rotary. Eggs, grits, bacon sausage, pancakes, coffee, tea, biscuits and more!

Music

The award-winning Branford High School Music Makers.
Additional music by Fred Noble, Wayne Brown and Brian Alford
Soloist: Adrienne Senior.
The MLK Day Breakfast isn't just about discussions and food. It's about the community gathering, talking, laughing and people getting to know each other. At the MLK Day Breakfast, you'll gain new perspectives, and you'll meet strangers who become friends.
